Michael J. Snure is a Florida Bar Board Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer. Board Certification is the Florida Bar’s highest recognition for experience, competence, professionalism and ethics in a recognized field of law, such as Criminal Trial Law. Less than 1% of all Florida lawyers have received this recognition in Criminal Trial Law. Mr. Snure is in a very small and select group of lawyers entitled to be recognized as a Board Certified Specialists. In order to achieve Board Certification a candidate must have tried a minimum number of cases to verdict, received favorable recommendations from other lawyers and judges and pass a rigorous written examination.

Mr. Snure has been recognized as a Super Lawyer every year since 2006. That designation is reserved to the top 5% of lawyers in Florida using a rigorous multi-phase peer review selection process.

He is also recognized as an AV-Pre-Eminent Lawyer by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. “AV- Pre-Eminent” represents the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethical standards The Martindale Hubbell Law Directory is the facilitator of a peer review process that rates attorneys. He has been included in “The Best Lawyers in America” since 2008. His law firm has been declared a “Best Law Firm” by U.S. News and World Report since 2013. He has been a consultant for ABC’s World News Tonight and Nightline. Mr. Snure has been a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 1988, serving as President in 2005-2006.

Mr. Snure was appointed by the Governor to serve a four year term on the Judicial Nominating Commission For the Ninth Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Orange and Osceola Counties. The Commission’s purpose was to interview, screen and recommend to The Governor candidates for appointment to the County and Circuit Court Benches in the Ninth Judicial Circuit.

He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and the Florida and Arkansas state courts. He has practiced law in Winter Park, Florida since 1982. He represents clients on a wide range of matters from traffic charges to homicide. He also represents lawyers and members of the judiciary on misconduct allegations. Over the years he has represented doctors and other health care professionals before their various regulatory agencies.


Mr. Snure has prepared many professional seminar materials and by invitation has lectured extensively on many criminal law topics. He has authored a practice manual chapter on DUI cases. For seven years he was the editor of the DUI NOTES column which appears in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers publication, THE DEFENDER. He is a Founding Member of the National College for DUI Defense and was an invited faculty instructor in the 1996 session presented at Harvard Law School. He is a past editor of the CRIMINAL LAW SECTION column which appeared monthly in the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers publication THE JOURNAL.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Orange and Seminole County Bar Associations

He is a former member and President of the Seminole County Legal Aid Society, an organization serving the legal needs of the indigent. He is a 1991 graduate of Leadership Orlando and was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1988.
